囡囡換季加大量新玩具

中秋節翌日,冷鋒到了,把囡囡9個月大的衣服取下架,才驚覺較我記憶中的數量有頗大出入.告訴老公後,決定要帶她去買些新衣.誰知吃過早餐,她已經太累,唯有請奶奶來湊孫女,我倆為她去添新衣.當然,第一站又是carter's.老公不太滿意今季沒有太多顏色選擇,尤其太多啡色,但我們也滿載而歸.然後再去了幾間舖頭,要買帽子,外套等等.媽媽也有意外收穫,買了幾件新衣呢!
路過DKNY,又給我見到在雜誌上喜歡的COZY,忍不住要去看看.試了上身,很不錯,一件外套可以有多於12種穿法,顏色又多,雖然價錢並不便宜,但以每種穿法平均計算的話,又頗化算.哈哈.老公知我看雜誌時己很喜歡,於是二話不說為我找合適的顏色.最後還是保守一點,買了深灰色.老公說如果真的很喜歡,可以考慮買多件深紅或藍色(兩種色我都很喜歡).
最後一站要為她買些新玩具–又買玩具,好像每星期也買.近期的fisher price廣告–silly town一出街,老公就說囡囡一定要有.難得又有coupon,買滿一百減20,其實真的好抵.於是我們差不多將全線laugh & learn 和go baby go也買了回家,全屋都是玩具.原來,玩具可以貴到…好想知道香港係咪都咁貴,定係美國賣得貴.
回到家中,奶奶看到我們的戰利品嚇得目定口呆.但很不出奇地,她回到家中訂了好幾樣玩具和用品給她,現在全部已送到(除了浴缸椅).加上新買的車椅,上周末我們一家又為振興美國經濟盡了一分力.經濟快些好轉吧!

乾淨又滑溜

試了clarisonic兩個星期,效果不錯.第一次試用了在臉上,又用了在左手前臂.讓老公感覺一下左右手的分别,他即時分到左手滑溜很多,原來不是幻覺.初次試用隨機附送的gentle cleaner,很乾淨又不乾燥.幾天後我試用BE的洗面粉,效果更佳.還未試用其他兩種clarsonic的cleaners,用完現在這支才會開它們.
皮膚開始更有光澤,毛孔也清潔得很好,與只用雙手清洗有很明顯的分別.這是第一次感到皮膚這樣清潔,塗上護膚品時,皮膚好像海棉一樣吸收,完全沒有誇大宣傳的效用.It's a keeper.

7 months old

Alexis is already 7 months old. She starts to notice the surroundings more and likes to look at strangers. The cutest thing is when she feels shy, her little arms hold around me, turning her head toward me but peeking through in 2 seconds. She likes pee-a-boo so much and giggles loud. It makes me laugh too.

We let her tried to use a straw to drink on the day she turned 7 months old. Wow, she mastered it in 2 minutes and enjoyed it a lot. She loves to drink from a regular cup the most but I perfer the non-drip slippy cup for now, at least for the sake of clean up.
She has been "da da da" a lot and makes a lot other vowes that I can't recall them all. Enjoying the unknown words of communication, I will remember all these moments with my little precious.

clarisonic 送到

等了幾天的Clarisonic Mia終於送到家中,未充電之前按捺不住要試試刷頭,好軟的刷毛,好舒服呀!第一次用之前要充電24小時,好心急想試在臉上(我己經愛上它了,雖然還未真正體驗).我估計最後mia會"讓給"老公,然後買plus.這樣就由頭到腳都可以清潔滑溜,好似日日做完spa一樣,護膚品可以吸收好一點,化妝又易上一點.我相信這將會是另一沒有買錯的產品,試驗之後再向大家報告.

I woke up Alexis in the morning for breakfast a few days ago, she was so happy to see me and held my hands to help herself sitting up as usual. As soon as she sat up, she started to pull herself up in a continuous motion. She made me realized how strong her little legs became. Actually she has strong legs all along since she was inside me. She always gave me hard kicks that were so uncomfortable (sometimes very painful) in the third trimester.

Now, she is like showing off her strong legs all days long. Reaching for my hands to hold hers so she can sit and stand up. Still working on her crawling, getting better and better, her belly can lift up an inche from the ground now. I am kind of convinced that she may stand alone or even walk before she can crawl. (she knows how to move left then right legs since she was 2 weeks old)

Love being a mom and spending all the time with my loving family. I think God put me in the best position I can be. So blessed and thank you God.

Finally bought the Clarisonic

Saw it on TV for a while and heard it is a great product, however the price tag for a cleaning brush is quite expensive. Really want the Clarisonic Plus (because I kind of want the body brush) but I ended up ordering the Mia. It is a traveling size Clarisonic, very new to the market and the price is much more reasonable. I don't really care about the speed mode and such, the reason for wanting the Plus is able to do the body too. Eric said I should order the Plus but I can't stand the idea of paying almost double the price for one extra function. So, I ordered the Mia to try it out and hope Eric will not steal it from me (a lot of men use it and love it too). Maybe I won't mind if he steal it because I will have a reason to buy the Plus (if I like it that much, haha). I can't wait it to be delivered.

enjoy making baby food

Alexis finished her 1st baby food a month ago, mother-in-law made her some peas and it tasted much much better than those prepared one. (even I don't like peas, I like the one she made). So I decided to make her food by myself. The next day, Eric and I went to the store and bought some fruits (her favorites : apples and bananas, I picked a butternut squash to try too). We went home and started chopping them in very small cubes, steamed them and ground it. She likes them all. And mommy likes the butternut squash so so much (my god, it is so tasty, I want to eat them all).

I don't know why people say making your own baby food is cheaper. It is not the case for me at all. But at least I know what is really going in my baby tummy, and it is much fresher and tastier. I made some more baby food yesterday since we only have apple sauce and banana (one of each) left. I made some carrots and pears this time. The pears are just ripe, I love them so much. The carrots are really sweet and the bright orange color is so going to catch her eyes. I need to make some more apple sauce later, I got a 10 pounds bag and hope it can make quite a lot. Love making the baby food. 🙂

母女購物記

自從成功帶囡囡去診所,隔了一星期我終於有信心帶她去街.當她一吃完早餐,我就駕車外出.第一次去了costco買wipes,路途其實頗遠,幸一路順風安全回家,她只是在回家途中累得哭起來,但一兩分鐘後便睡著了.第二次是去超市買餸,目標是在她要小睡前回家.當我們入到超市,她已經開始疲倦,我盡快地完成購物清單.但在等候付款時,囡囡已累得要命,想睡但又想看周遭的新事物,結果第一次在購物途中發小脾氣.幸好我一抱就安撫了她的情緒,可憐想睡的小傢伙,一上車就睡著了.

一連三天我們都外出,今次去了買電動牙刷的刷頭,還看了新玩具.本來打算影相問問老公意見,誰知新的iphone 3G S竟然顯示無sim card???(心想:每次換新電話,都只是我的有問題,不會又這樣"幸運"嘛?又話新的好過舊,還未夠十天就有問題…雖然是老爺奶奶送的,但全家的新iphone都無問題,為何又是我 — 黑仔王)我嘗試開關機三次,最後一次我輕輕地拍在手上,終於回復正常.但囡囡這時已經開始不耐煩,收銀處還是回去買玩具,都是先回家.

第四天老公留在家中上班,又是晨早會議,可憐;但我們可以一家人吃午餐.爸爸趁午飯時間,帶寶貝和我去買玩具,新的鼓和peek a block,兩樣她都很喜歡(媽媽想買block給她很久,嘻嘻).

六個月大啦

囡囡已經六個月大,今次是我第一次自己帶囡囡去診所打針,幸好一路順風,安全到達.醫生真的好喜歡alexis, 出入幾次都走過來逗她,每次都讚她可愛又醒目,最後一次讚她是個最乖的嬰兒,因為姑娘幫她打完針,她坐在車椅上眼仔碌碌,好像甚麼事也沒有發生過一樣(可能其他bb打完針仍然在哭吧).
自此之後,我獨自帶她外出的信心大了不少.我由最初只可以勉強提起嬰兒車椅,到現在我可以提起載著囡囡的車椅,大力得嚇了自己一跳.做了媽媽真的會練成大力士,難怪我可以輕易地抱起近16磅的女兒很久,也不會感到手軟,她在無形中幫助媽媽鍛鍊肌肉,是私人健身器材呢!

GOSSIP GIRL 讀後感

在生囡囡之前買了十多本書(突然記得還有另外幾本書,放了在哪裏呢??),打算在醫院等生又未到好痛的時候用來解悶,但奶奶和老公全程陪著我,又看著電視劇,最後書沒有打開過,原封不動的帶回家,一直到兩個月前才有時間看.

marley and me是十多本書的其中一本,因為我太喜歡電影版,所以買了書,但我看了兩頁後便放了一旁,現在不知道將它放了在哪,要去找找才可.其餘大部分的都是gossip girl,因為電視版劇情非常吸引,於是不想等下一季,就全套買了回家看(全套很多本,好貴啊).買了幾個月,終於在兩個月前我有時間可以開始看,每次有些少靜下來的時間我就看,現在是第四本,還有8本書,不知道何時才能看完.
看完頭三本後其實有點失望,因為故事情節和電視劇的出入頗大,連某些人物也有所出入,語言的粗鄙更嚇了我一跳.不得不佩服電視版下的功夫,將人物和語言修剪得體,可以在電視播出.看看書的背面,適合閱讀的年齡是15歲以上,但我和老公也認為最少要成年才適宜閱讀.書的內容有太多性愛描寫,語言字眼粗鄙,人物的道德行為淪落,還有大量吸毒,吸煙和嗜酒問題,全被描述得像正常生活一樣.我相信15歲的青少年很容易會被感染,真的以為很多人也會這樣做,而認同這些行為.
至於作者的功力…無可否認故事的情節雖然與電視版有頗大差別,卻仍然很吸引.但有一點令我很煩厭的,是作者在書中不同的章節,不斷地重複各人物的背景和慣常行為,重複到有點累贅.然後在每本書又再重複幾次,真的看到有點納悶.
另一問題是大量的粗言穢語,雖然我明白這是作者想帶出富家子弟的醜陋一面,又可能是想地道一點,因為大眾都知道紐約人說"fxxk"其實等同助語詞,大部分時間都不含任何攻擊或辱罵成分.然而在書中反覆看到各種粗鄙字眼,仍然不是甚麼一件樂事.
