Have A Sweet Day".

Well done! It's not easy being an American mom! Totally agree the kids here are spoiled with gifts in every festival.
[Vicky回覆02/27/2013 00:48:57]That makes life more interesting, right? I am sure you will continue to do fine for your little angels
02/27/2013 00:04:45]Glad that help you to accept and adapt, haha.
This cultural difference thing is still a long road ahead. Just don't want to imagine how much more cultural shocks are there when they go to school. I have been prep-talk a lot of crazy things that happened in school.
[Vicky回覆02/26/2013 23:59:52]I know what you mean. It is not a bad way to make up for the red packets they would receive during Lunar New Year from the Chinese relatives. Now you are making me feel even better, haha!
[版主回覆02/26/2013 23:48:31]It took me quite a few years to accept this culture. I didn't receive gifts as a child also. I just see the gifts as red packets for Lunar New Year now, to justify kids should have more than a few gifts on big holiday like Christmas.
[Vicky回覆02/26/2013 23:10:18]I think that is what my husband would say too! He was already "defending" for our future children when I was questioning about the gift culture. It took me a while to get used to the concept as I rarely received gifts from my parents as a kid. By the way, my husband is Italian too, but half 🙂
02/26/2013 04:31:49]Thanks. Being a mom anywhere is hard, but seeing their happy faces is so worth it. My husband said they are "well-taken care of", not spoiled. haha.
